Artist FAQ

We love including local artists' work in our store! If you're a local maker and interested in seeing your creations for sale at Ebb & Flow, here are some things you should know:

  1. No Consignment. We only sell products we have purchased outright at wholesale prices, because our business model isn't suited to selling on consignment. We know many makers are not able to discount their prices enough to meet the wholesale price threshold and still earn a living wage, and we don't want them to! There are other outlets where artists can sell directly to customers at the price they are comfortable, and we cheer them on as they do!
  2. Sustainability is Key. The North Star of our business is sustainability and eco-consciousness, so we are naturally more drawn to artists whose work reflects this either in their subjects, materials, packaging, etc.
  3. Physical Over Digital. We don't sell digital products, including from artists and artisans. We only sell tangible products.
  4. Limited Categories. There are some product categories -- like clothing and jewelry -- that we have opted not to carry at this time. We are a new business and establishing a known brand is crucial. We may expand our inventory later into these categories, but for now we are not expanding into certain types of products.
  5. Cohesive and Curated. It's important to us that customers know what to expect at Ebb & Flow Boutique. We carefully select our product inventory to fit our point of view and tell a story overall, just like composing a story or a painting. Anything we bring in needs to fit that narrative, and at a price point we and our customers can afford. If you stop in and take a look around the store, you'll get the best sense for who we are and whether we are a match for your work.

If you think your products would be at home in our store, we'd love to hear from you! The best way to do that is to email the store owner Dana, and include any of the following that you have:

  • A link to your portfolio, store, or social media accounts
  • Photos of your flagship work
  • A price list, both wholesale and suggested retail
  • A description of your purchasing terms and average turnaround time
  • Other stores that carry your work, locally or beyond
  • Anything else you think we should know about you and your work
